Caretaker CM directs to create conductive environment for elections in Balochistan


Some 8,000 CCTV cameras to be installed at sensitive & most sensitive polling stations; services of retired security personnel to be hired for election duty

QUETTA (6AM Report): Expressing satisfaction over the measures taken for law and order to conduct the general elections in Balochistan, the caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki has directed the concerned the concerned authorities to bring more improvement in the measures taken so far.

He also directed to the concerned high ups to remove the complaints and reservation of the election candidates and the general public about the elections.

In addition to this, contingency plans should be prepared for restoration of peace during the elections as per the regional circumstances.

These and similar other directives were issued by the caretaker Chief Minister while chairing a high level meeting about law and order and general elections in the province, here at the Chief Minister secretariat on Friday morning.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Zahid Saleem, administrative secretaries of the concerned departments, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, police high ups besides other concerned senior officials.

Certain important decisions were made about security deployment, installation of CCTV cameras and timely supply of the election material in the province.

The Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Home and Divisional Commissioners briefed the meeting about the steps taken and being taken for restoration of peace and conducting elections in the province.

The Chief Minister also directed to create conductive environment for the voters to use their right of franchise.

Similarly, he directed to start work without any delay on the steps proposed for meeting the shortage of security personnel.

Earlier, during the briefing, it was informed that some 8,000 CCTV cameras would be installed at the sensitive and most sensitive polling stations of the province.

It was also informed that the arrangement is being made for deployment of the police and levies personnel as to be required for the elections.

The services of retired security personnel would also be hired for election duty.

The supply of election material would be done in remote and inaccessible areas of the province by the helicopter, it was decided in the meeting.
