FIA issues notice to media, social media figures for their involvement
Disseminating information against CJP
ISLAMABAD (Online): Legal noose has been tightened around those involved in disseminating wrong information against the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) and state institutions.
FIA has come in action against posting wrong and insulting information on social media against the state institutions and CJP.
FIA has issued notices to 65 persons with formal inquiries.
FIA has registered 115 inquiries formally against the persons for disseminating fake news and launching false propaganda against CJP and state institutions.
Sources said the FIA investigation and proceedings is showing seriousness of the matter.
With regard to FIA notices hearing has been fixed on January 30 and 31.
Those who have been served notices include 47 prominent figures of media and social media.
Focus is being placed on 47 prominent figures for their involvement in fomenting fake news against the CJP and state institutions.
They include Siddique Jan, Shaheen Sehbai, Asad Ali Toor, Syed Samar Abbas, Sirul Maeda, Adeel Mehmood Raja, Sabir Shakir and Mati ullah Jan. Notice has also been sent to Maleeha Hashmi, Jibran Nasir and Syed Iqrarul Hassan.
