QUETTA (6 AM Report): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the first Institute of Cardiology Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan (SMBZAN) Quetta and National Institute of Cardiology and Vascular Diseases (NICVD) Karachi here on Saturday.
The MoU has been signed between the two institutions for treatment of the children suffering from the heart diseases in Quetta.
Under the agreement, preliminarily the NICVD would provide a team of heart specialists for treatment of the heart patient children after every two weeks in Quetta.
The children suffering from the cardiac issues would get free treatment facilities in the Institute of Cardiology Quetta which is equipped with modern healthcare facilities, as was informed during briefing on the occasion of signing of MoU.
Those who were present on the occasion were included Chief Executive Officer of ICQ, Brigadier Iftikhar, Director General Health, Dr Ghulam Farooq, Head of Department NICVD, Surgeon Dr Sohail Bangash, Vice President of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) Dr Ayesha Siddiqa and others.
Speaking on the occasion, they described it as an important milestone and gift for the province.
Meanwhile, a cake was also cut to mark successful 100 cardiac surgeries in the ICQ.
