Two-day stakeholders workshop calls for promoting fisheries policy

QUETTA (6AM Report): Two-day stakeholders consultation workshop was held under the auspices of Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) on the fisheries policy and laws in Karachi.

The workshop was organized on the theme of one part of technical assistance to the provincial government Gwadar Lasbela Economic Support Project-II in collaboration with International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

The workshop was aimed at promoting cooperation and getting wisdom for preparations of the fisheries policy framework and formation of legal appliances.

The federal and provincial government high ups as well as governmental organizations, experts, representatives of fishermen community and Aquaculture value chain actively participated in the workshop.

Prominent among them were the Naib Admiral ® Iftikhar Ahmed, Imran Gichki, Lal Jan Jaffar, Dr Muhammad Ali Mastoi , Director General Sindh Maritime Fisheries besides others.

The participants stressed the need to promote policy of fisheries sector.’
