PTI, SUPDT jail work out mechanism for meeting with PTI founder in jail
ISLAMABAD (Online): PTI and Superintendent Adiala Jail have worked out mechanism with reference to meeting with PTI founder in Adiala jail and informed Islamabad High Court in this regard.
The court has remarked that the six lawyers whose name have been given by PTI founder can only meet him.
The case against the notification regarding imposition of ban on meetings with PTI founder in Adiala jail came up for hearing before IHC Thursday.
The counsel Sher Afzal Marwat informed the court we have worked out mechanism with superintendent Adiala jail.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked we are keeping this petition pending. You people work out SOPs.
The court also directed Sher Afzal Marwat to appoint focal person.
Sher Afzal Marwat informed the court that they four people will meet today and go to meet him again on Tuesday.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked we are not saying this to you to allow all the people to meet PTI founder in jail.
Jail superintendent told that this problem is coming only for the reason that every one is saying he is lawyer and he has to meet. They come and go on the occasion of hearing and say they have to go inside.
The court remarked only those 6 lawyers will meet whose name have been given by Imran Khan.
Jail superintendent told the court there are directives from interior ministry regarding restrictions on meeting with PTI founder and other prisoners.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked they cannot direct you. This is your discretion.
Earlier IHC had ordered to work out mechanism to meet PTI founder in jail.
The court said both the respondents should sit together and evolve a mechanism and inform the court.
The petition against government order regarding restrictions on meeting with Imran Khan came up for hearing before Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of IHC.
Superintendent Adiala jail appeared before the court and said that several hundreds applications are coming for meeting.
He said order was issued that 6 persons in addition to lawyers will be allowed to meet. I have 7000 prisoners. The court allowed that 6 persons daily can meet which is not possible for us.
The court said to Lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat this has been settled in the court of justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir Khan said to superintendent jail you daily come with some new objections.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir Khan said do you want violation of these orders. Who are those people no one knows whom.
Later the court ordered to evolve mechanism and inform the court today.
PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat informed the court they have evovled mechanism.
