QESCO issues notices to defaulters as total arrears reach Rs. 623.68 billion

QUETTA (6AM Report): The arrears of Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) have reached the hefty amount of Rs. 623.68 billion against the defaulters in Balochistan.

According to the spokesman of QESCO, more than Rs. 475 billion are outstanding against the agricultural consumers out of total dues in the province.

The spokesman informed that the government of Balochistan has to pay Rs. 51.54 billion and federal government has to pay Rs. 23.23 billion on account of the agricultural subsidy.

While on the other hand, the Rs. 37 billion are outstanding against the provincial government and its subordinate departments.

Similarly, over Rs. 34 billion are payable against the defaulters including domestic, commercial and industrial consumers.

The QESCO spokesman said that the notices have been issued to the defaulters for early payment of the arrears.
