ISLAMABAD (NNI): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Gohar has said the matter of the Senate election and candidates was raised with the party founder in Adiala Jail.
Talking to the media, he said the names of PTI candidates for KP, Punjab and Islamabad have been finalized.
He said the Supreme Court was told that the issue of reserved seats would emerge if the bat electoral symbol was taken from the party.
He added: “It is clear in the constitution that no political party can get more reserved seats than won seats.
Gohar said PTI would go to the Supreme Court (SC) and hoped the decision would be in the party’s favour.
The PTI leader stressed that the Election Commission had not done the scrutiny of the reserved seats for women
He said: “After the election, we were forced to join another political party. The decision to join the SIC was the best.
He said: “The demonstration outside the IMF office was not organized by PTI.” “The text of the IMF letter was clear. The letter reminded the IMF of its promise to ensure free and fair elections”.
The PTI leader stressed: Asad Qaiser has never said that he will not let pass the resolution in favour of Palestine. This is a misunderstanding that might be caused by chaos.”
The vote in the Senate election should be kept secret, but the PTI wants the procedure for verifying the vote to be with the Election Commission, he maintained.
