Governor stresses need to make techniques of tackling natural disasters & protection of environment part of curriculum
Comprehensive strategy needed to prevent mishaps & disasters:
QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has underlined the need to prepare comprehensive strategy for prevention of the mishaps and disasters well in time in the present developed era of science and technology.
The Governor said that forests and wildlife are our national assets, therefore, it is necessary to create sense of their protection besides their importance.
In this regard, the employees of all concerned departments and volunteers deserve appreciation for overcoming the fire broke out in the forests located in mountains of Barkhan district.
Malik Abdul Wali Kakar said that the long term planning is direly needed to extinguish the fire as well as to cope with the natural disasters including earthquakes, floods or epidemics.
The Governor said that one can not neglect the incident of fire eruption in the forests merely by terming the same as natural calamity or mere fire eruption.
Rather, advance information of such mishaps and disasters can be given in the developed era of science and technology, and then it is possible to prevent the otherwise likely financial and human losses, he added.
Moreover, the sustainable arrangements can also be made for protection from incidents like fire in forests and etc, he said.
In addition to this, assistance of the media can also be sought for running awareness campaign among general public.
The Governor also stressed the need to make the techniques of tackling the natural disasters and protection of the environment part of academic curriculum in order to produce the positive results.
