13 candidates in competition run for 11 seats of Senate from Balochistan

20 candidates withdraw nomination papers:

QUETTA (6 AM Report): In all 20 candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers from the Senate elections in Balochistan.

According to the data shared by the spokesman of Provincial Election Commissioner, eight candidates withdrew their papers from general seats of Senate from the province.

Similarly, seven candidates withdrew papers from the seats allocated for technocrats in the Senate from Balochistan while five candidates announced to withdraw their candidatures from the seats allocated for women in the senate.

After withdrawal of the candidatures, in all 13 candidates are in the competition run for 11 seats of Senate from the province.

Now at the outset, eight candidates are in the competition run for seven general seats of Senate while three candidates are in run for two seats of technocrats.

For women, two candidates are contesting elections for the even number of seats allocated for the same category.

With this, Rahat Jamali of PML-N and Husna Bibi of PPP are expected to be declared successful unopposed. The final list of candidates would be issued today.

The election on 11 seats of Senate is scheduled to be held on April 2, 2024.
