Safe City project cameras to help monitor movement of criminals and identify encroachments & traffic jam in metropolis 

QUETTA (6 AM Report): A high level meeting was held to review the performance and utilization of Quetta Safe City Project here on Tuesday.

The Inspector General of Police, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh presided over the meeting.

While the Deputy Inspector Generals of police, AIGP Quetta ITCP, AIGP Operations , SSP Traffic, Project Director Safe City Project, Deputy Director ITCPO were present in the meeting, the Commandant PTC Quetta participated in the meeting through video link.

The meeting reviewed the performance of Quetta Safe City Project besides considering certain proposals for its utilization.

The meeting also reviewed to establish Safe City Authority in different other cities of the province.

Addressing the meeting, IGP said that the monitoring of movement of criminals would be made possible through the safe city project cameras.

In addition to this, the identification of encroachments and traffic jams would also be made possible through the CCTV cameras, he added.

He termed the encroachments as biggest reason behind the traffic jam.
