Comprehensive strategy needed to resolve financial, administrative & academic related issues of public sector universities: Governor
QUETTA (6 AM Report): The Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has stressed that heavy responsibility rests on us to provide new vision for making financially self-sufficient and stable with consensus and mutual understanding.
It would contribute a lot for bringing improvement in higher education in the province.
He said that self-sufficiency of all public sector universities and educational development requires from us to make daring decisions.
The Governor directed all the concerned vice Chancellors of the public sector universities to ensure merit in recruitments and promotions and visit different classes during the studies.
The Governor was speaking to the Vice Chancellor of University of Balochistan, Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Bazai, Vice Chancellor of University of Loralai, Dr. Ehsanullah Kakar, Vice Chancellor, Engineering University of Khuzdar, Professor Dr. Maqsood Ahmed and Vice Chancellor, Turbat University, Professor Jan Muhammad Baloch, who called on him here separately on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor made it clear that the big objectives can be made possible with big resolve and determination.
He said that it is high time to adopt national thinking and approach remaining above the petty differences and personal interests.
He said that universities are not mere educational and research institutions rather lives of our future generations are linked with these higher educational institutions.
Therefore, there is a need to prepare comprehensive strategy to resolve their financial, administrative and academic related issues on permanent basis in order to set our national priorities, adding he stressed.
He said that contacts have been made at the federal and provincial levels on the financial issues of the public sector universities especially nonpayment of salaries to their employees.
He expressed the hope that they would play their wholehearted role for resolving the issues on permanent basis.
