Support & guidance of Intl. organizations needed to learn modern skills to new generation, says Governor
QUETTA (6AM Report): The Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has stressed that we desperately need support and guidance of the international organizations for learning modern skills to the younger generation and increase capacity of the officers in the government departments.
He said that there is key role of the private institutions along with the government departments for public welfare.
He appreciated the endeavours of international non/governmental organizations especially the United Nations organizations for provision of education, health and clean drinking water in urban and rural areas of the province.
The Governor was speaking to Assistant Secretary General and Director of Regional Bureau for Asia and Pacific, Ms. Kanni Wignaraja, who called on him here at the Governor House on Thursday.
During the course of meeting, Resident Representative of UNDP in Pakistan, Dr. Samuel Rizk, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP, Ms. Van Nguyen, Head of UNDP sub-office Balochistan, Zulfiqar Durrani, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Abdul Saboor Kakar, Secretary P&D Department, Lal Jan Jaffar and Principal Secretary to Governor, Hashim Khan Ghilzai were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor stressed the need to put different sectors especially agriculture, minerals, livestock and fisheries on modern lines.
He said that we have to benefit from the sectors. He also said that we can create capability to cope with the natural disasters with assistance of UNDP and other institutions of United Nations.
