Apex committee reviews foolproof security of CPEC projects, decides to implement prescribed SOPs

Chief Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti emphasizes upon fighting terrorism together; says we would strictly deal with those who have carried weapons against state 

QUETTA (6 AM Report): The 16th meeting of Provincial Apex Committee of Balochistan was held with the Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti in the chair here on Monday.

The meeting was attended by the Corps Commander, Lt General Rahat Nasim Ahmed Khan, Provincial Minister for Home, Mir Ziaullah Langove, Chief Secretary, Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Zahid Saleem, Inspector General of Police, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, Chief Collector Customs, Abdul Qadir Memon, besides other concerned high ups.

Certain important decisions were made about improvement in law and order, elimination of terrorism and smuggling and second phase of repatriation of illegal immigrants besides others.

The meeting reviewed foolproof security of the CPEC projects and the Chinese nationals working on these projects, and decided to strictly implement the proposed SOPs in this regard.

There was consensus in the meeting on starting activities at large scale for prevention of the smuggling by removing the administrative and legal flaws.

Besides, it was decided to take the result-oriented steps for prevention of two-way smuggling of sugar, fertilizer, patrol and diesel.

Moreover, the meeting also decided to prevent the smuggling of non-custom paid to Pakistan from the border area.

The provincial Home department presented data about the illegal immigrants repatriated from Balochistan in it’s briefing.

The process of repatriation of more illegal immigrants to their country as per the guideline and decision of federal government was made conditional with the timeline decided.

Meanwhile, addressing the Apex committee meeting, Chief Minister said that peaceful Balochistan is guarantor of stable Pakistan.

He said that the war against terrorism is not of the Army and militants, rather it is all of us, and we have to fight it together. 

The Chief Minister asserted that the killers of innocent people don’t deserve any relaxation. We would strictly deal with those who have carried weapons, however, would go to homes of those Balochistani who are angry, and would try to remove their reservations, he added.

The Chief Minister also said that we are setting positive direction for good governance in the province. The fruits of good governance would start reaching in five to six months, he added.

Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti stressed that all of us have to play our role for betterment of the province.
