LAHORE (UNA): Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded immediate resignations from all individuals implicated in the Dubai Property Leaks scandal, citing widespread concerns over the transparency and legitimacy of their overseas investments.

Addressing the latest revelation of Pakistani elite’s vast property holdings in Dubai, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman condemned the pattern of wealth accumulation among the country’s political and influential figures, characterizing it as a betrayal of public trust. With over 22 thousand Pakistanis reportedly owning properties worth a staggering $12.5 billion in Dubai, the scandal has once again laid bare the extent of financial impropriety within the ruling class.

Raising pointed questions regarding the origins and legality of funds used to purchase properties abroad, He called for full disclosure from those implicated in the leaks. He challenged the ruling elite to clarify whether these investments were duly declared to relevant authorities and whether they were acquired through legitimate means.

Expressing grave concerns over the implications of such revelations on Pakistan’s economic stability and governance, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman warned against the detrimental impact of capital flight on domestic investment and development initiatives. He asserted that individuals involved in offshore investments were undermining Pakistan’s prospects for prosperity and security.

The Dubai Property Leaks have cast a spotlight on several prominent figures, including political scions and high-ranking officials, raising questions about their financial dealings and ethical conduct. Among those named in the leaks are Hussain Nawaz, son of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and various members of political dynasties.

With Pakistanis ranking second among foreign property buyers abroad, the scandal has underscored the need for greater transparency and accountability in wealth management practices. The revelation that retired generals and other public figures are also implicated in the leaks further underscores the pervasive nature of the issue.

As public outrage mounts over the Dubai Property Leaks, pressure is mounting on implicated individuals to step down from their positions of power. With calls for accountability growing louder, the nation waits to see whether the ruling elite will heed the demands for resignation and transparency in the face of mounting scrutiny.
