SC full court constituted to hear matter of SIC reserved seats

ISLAMABAD (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has constituted 13-member full court to hear the matter of allocation of  reserved seats to  Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC).

The bench will be headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa.

The SIC petition will be heard on June 03.

Sources said Justice  Musarrat Hilali is not included in the bench due to heart problem.

It may  be recalled that a 3-member bench led by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah had suspended Peshawar High Court (PHC)  decision.

Under practice and procedure law, the matter was sent o judges committee for constitution of larger bench and interpretation of constitutional point.

Earlier Speaker KP assembly had filed appeals against PHC decision.  While Election Commission had given decision for not allocating the reserved seats to SIC.  PHC had upheld it.
