Arshid Sharif murder case: Kenyan court orders to take stern action against police officers, security agencies under criminal laws

NAIROBI (Online): Kenyan high court has announced decision of Arshid Sharif murder case.

The court while declaring the murder unconstitutional and illegal has remarked government and security agencies cannot escape from their responsibilities. Action be taken against police personnel and security agencies under criminal laws who were involved in firing.

The court ordered to pay damage one crore shillings equal to Rs 2.17 crore to family members of Arshid Sharif.

Kenyan high court announced decision on the petition of widow of Arshid Sharif seeking investigation into murder of Arshid Sharif.

Court rejected police statement that they had fired upon vehicle of Arshid Sharif due to mistaken identity.  We were taking this vehicle for vehicle of kidnappers.

The court while ordering for comprehensive investigation into murder conspiracy of Arshid Sharif remarked stern action be taken against police and security agencies.

The judge of Kenyan court remarked in its decision every one is equal in the eyes of law and constitution. The murder of Arshid Sharif was not outcome of mistaken identity. The government institutions which are named in the petition cannot escape from their responsibility.

The court has ordered to pay one crore shillings to family members of Arshid Sharif.
