Place where Quaid-e-Azam had spent last days set ablaze: Apex Court

ISLAMABAD (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned till July 11 hearing of case against trial of civilians in military courts.

The order said the plea of Lahore High Court (LHC) Bar for  becoming respondent is accepted.

Faisal Siddiqui told the court he does not want to pursue the petition for direct broadcasting of the proceedings.

The appeal plea of KP is wrapped up being withdrawn.

A 7-member larger bench of SC presided over by Justice Amin ud Din took up the  case for hearing. .

Suleman Akram Raja counsel for PTI said the family is not being allowed to meet the accused persons since 5 weeks.

Counsel Latif Khosa remarked the accused have been kept in bad circumstances.

Justice Jamal Mandokhail  inquired if meeting has not taken place then how it became known that they have been kept in adverse circumstances.

The counsel replied the people who met earlier told that the hands of the accused were tied,

Attorney General (AG) told the court the matter of meeting between the accused and their families had been resolved.

Justice Jamal Mandokhail  remarked the place was set ablaze where  Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had spent his last days.

Hafiz Ullah Niazi father of PTI leader Hassan Niaz told his last meeting with his son was held due to court’s order.

Hafiz Ullah Niazi said Maulana Abul Kalam had said the biggest injustice is done either in the battlefields or in the house of justice.

Hafiz Ullah Niazi while raising constitution in his hand said his son is on physical remand since the last 11 months. Where it is written in the constitution.

Justice Shahid Wahid remarked Hamid Khan Sahb, how can  your petition for becoming respondent be  heard.

Counsel Hamid Khan said he has filed petition for becoming respondent on behalf of LHC Bar.

Justice Jamal Mandokhail  remarked we will hear you as assistant. Why you want to become respondent on behalf of Bar.

Hamid Khan replied bar has its own position.

Justice Shahid Wahid remarked provinces should not have been heard in intra court appeals.
