MUSTUNG (6 AM Report): A devastating explosion occurred near the Civil Hospital and Girls School Chowk in Mustung, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals, including five children, a police officer, and a passerby. The blast took place at approximately 8:35 AM and was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) that had been planted on a motorcycle and detonated via remote control.
According to police reports, the explosion injured 22 others, prompting immediate medical response. The injured were swiftly transported to the Civil Hospital and Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital for treatment. Among those transferred to Quetta, one individual is reported to be in critical condition.
This tragic incident highlights ongoing security concerns in the region and underscores the need for enhanced protective measures to safeguard civilians and law enforcement personnel. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack as they work to provide support for the victims’ families.
