Tribal Jirga in Loralai vows to tackle security, opium cultivation, and highway blockades

LORALAI (6 AM Report): A tribal jirga was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Loralai Division, Saadat Hassan, to discuss pressing issues related to security, opium cultivation, and blockages on national highways.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Miran Baloch emphasized that district administration and police would take strict action against terrorism, theft, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities to maintain peace and order.
He urged the public to contribute positively towards regional development and promote religious harmony. Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Haji Muhammad Khan Tor Utmankhel addressed the attendees, stressing that maintaining peace is essential for the area’s progress and prosperity.
He called upon tribal leaders to prevent opium poppy cultivation on their lands, reiterating that any form of terrorism would not be tolerated.
He also condemned the frequent blockages on the national highway due to local disputes, which disrupt daily life and interprovincial travel.
Commissioner Saadat Hassan, Brigadier FC Naveed Qalb Abbas, and DIG Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani also addressed the jirga, assuring that steps would be taken to maintain peace, eradicate opium cultivation, and prevent highway blockages.
Tribal leaders pledged full support to the provincial government and district administration, vowing to work together for the security and development of the region. The event was attended by notable tribal leaders and security officials.
