Balochistan requires effective projects to improve economic and social lives of its people: CS Shakeel

QUETTA (6 AM Report): Chief Secretary of Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, expressed that “Balochistan is a vast province that requires effective projects to improve the economic and social lives of its people.” He outlined the government’s priorities, which include climate change adaptation, human resource development, education and vocational training, employment, water management, agriculture, and energy development. A significant meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary of Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, to review the progress of development projects in the province supported by the World Bank.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of ensuring the timely completion of these projects. The ongoing projects discussed include the Balochistan Integrated Water Resources Management and Development Project (BIWRMDP), the Balochistan Human Capital Investment Project, and the Balochistan Livelihoods and Entrepreneurship Project. The Balochistan government is working on these initiatives in collaboration with relevant departments and various consultants.
The goals of these projects are to enhance the agricultural sector, improve health and education services across different districts, promote enterprise development, and support local entrepreneurs.
The meeting was attended by Country Director of the World Bank, Najy Benhassine, Additional Chief Secretary for Development, Hafiz Abdul Basit, Secretary of Health, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai, Secretary of Livestock, Tayyab Lahri, World Bank representatives, and other relevant officials.
