GoB signs MoU with SPS to provide quality education to underprivileged students

100 scholarships announced for students from remote districts of Balochistan

BAHAWALPUR (6 AM Report): In a significant move to improve access to quality education for students from underprivileged areas, the Government of Balochistan and Sadiq Public School Bahawalpur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday. The MoU ensures 100 full scholarships for talented students from Balochistan’s remote districts.
The signing ceremony was held during a one-day visit to Bahawalpur by Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, accompanied by Provincial Ministers Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani and Mir Asim Kurd Gello, Member National Assembly Nawabzada Jamal Khan Raisani, former Senator Nawabzada Saifullah Khan Magsi, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, and other senior officials.
The agreement was signed by CEO of Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF), Muhammad Zakriya Khan Noorzai, and Principal of Sadiq Public School, David Dowdles. Under the MoU, 100 students from Balochistan will be admitted to the boarding house of Sadiq Public School. The Balochistan government will sponsor 85 students, while the school itself will provide 15 scholarships for deserving candidates.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Bugti hailed the agreement as a major step in the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to provide quality education. “This partnership underscores our commitment to ensuring access to the best educational institutions for the bright students of Balochistan,” he said.
He further noted that Sadiq Public School, as one of the country’s premier educational institutions, will now be accessible to talented youth from Balochistan, paving the way for their brighter futures.
