GWADAR (6 AM Report) : The fish industry of Gwadar is set to be showcased prominently at national and international expos, said Janahid Hot, President of the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Highlighting the sector’s pivotal role in the region’s economy, he emphasized that expanding exports and increasing market access for local traders are top priorities for the chamber.
To boost fish consumption across Pakistan, awareness programs will be organized in Punjab, while training workshops will familiarize the business community with modern industry trends, Hot said. He added that collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will further enhance Gwadar’s export potential.
“Our foremost responsibility is to provide facilities to local traders and ensure that Gwadar’s products gain global recognition,” he stated, noting that exporters can leverage the Export Development Fund to access new markets.
The chamber aims to empower young entrepreneurs, improve the livelihoods of local fishermen, and strengthen Gwadar’s contribution to the national economy. “Through strategic planning, Gwadar is being positioned as a major export hub, and our traders will receive strong representation at international expos,” Hot added.
He concluded that all initiatives, including training programs and awareness campaigns, are designed to align the local fish industry with global standards and promote sustainable growth for Gwadar’s business community.
