QUETTA (6 AM Report): Acting on the special directives of the Commissioner and Chairman of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Quetta Division, a joint operation was carried out in the Nawan Killi area of Quetta. Under the supervision of RTA Quetta Division Secretary Zahoor Ahmed Baloch, a combined team of RTA officials, traffic police, and personnel from Bijli and Zarghoonabad police stations seized 13 illegal rickshaws and issued multiple traffic violation challans to drivers.
Authorities stated that illegal rickshaws and vehicles without proper documentation are a major source of inconvenience for the public and contribute significantly to the city’s growing traffic congestion.
“There are clear instructions from the Commissioner Quetta Division to strictly enforce traffic regulations to ensure safer and smoother travel for citizens,” officials noted during the operation.
They emphasized that traffic congestion, illegal encroachments, and unauthorized vehicles are the primary causes of traffic issues in Quetta. Moreover, the lack of compliance with traffic rules by some drivers often leads to accidents and frequent traffic jams.
The officials further assured that the ongoing crackdown against illegal rickshaws would be intensified. “A coordinated strategy involving RTA personnel, traffic police, and local police stations will continue to be implemented to address these problems effectively,” they concluded.
