BEIJING (PPI): In a significant diplomatic and economic initiative, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with prominent Chinese business personalities in Beijing to promote business-to-business investment between China and Pakistan.
The high-level talks emphasized enhancing cooperation in various sectors, particularly textiles, information technology, agriculture, and industry. Discussions also encompassed mining, minerals, road and digital connectivity improvements, advancements in e-commerce, and space technologies.
Prime Minister Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s recent comprehensive reform measures undertaken to stabilize and strengthen the national economy. Key initiatives include offering tax incentives to investors and simplifying visa procedures for Chinese citizens. Furthermore, the establishment of dedicated booths at major airports has been a significant step in facilitating travel and business engagements.
Moreover, the Prime Minister underscored the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) as a crucial mechanism for increasing investment, removing obstacles, and bolstering business-to-business partnerships. The SIFC is viewed as a vital platform for enhancing economic growth and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
