Quetta (ANN): Balochistan’s Provincial Minister for Food, Haji Noor Muhammad Dummar, has announced that a strict crackdown will soon be launched against those hoarding flour in an attempt to create an artificial crisis. He assured that there is no wheat shortage in the province and vowed that flour will be provided to the public at even lower prices than before.
Speaking to journalists after the provincial assembly session, Dummar dismissed social media reports about the alleged transfer of Ziarat’s district headquarters to Sanjavi, calling it baseless propaganda by political opponents. “Ziarat is, and will remain, the district headquarters. If anyone tries to relocate it, I will be the first to oppose. This is nothing but a conspiracy by a religious party and a nationalist group who, after failing on other fronts, are now attempting to mislead voters,” he said.
He added that efforts were also underway to resolve tensions between two local groups in Ziarat that had recently clashed, with both government and personal intervention to restore peace.
On the issue of wheat and flour supply, the minister emphasized: “Certain mafias repeatedly try to exploit the people by creating artificial shortages. They are once again hoarding wheat, but we will not allow them to succeed. A crackdown will be launched soon, and flour will be sold to the public at reduced rates to break their grip on the market.”
