Incidents raise concerns over security and disruption of development projects in Balochistan
Turbat/Chagai (UNA) – Unknown armed men targeted law enforcement personnel and development activities in Balochistan’s Kech (Turbat) and Chagai districts, fueling fresh security concerns and obstructing ongoing projects.
According to details, in the Josak area of Turbat, gunmen held police personnel hostage and snatched official weapons from them. The policemen were deployed for the security of an under-construction PDMA office when the assailants launched the attack. After seizing the weapons, the attackers fled, leaving the officers behind. Security forces later cordoned off the area and launched an investigation, though no arrests have been made so far.
In a separate incident in Chagai, unidentified men set fire to construction machinery being used for a development project, causing heavy financial losses. Authorities confirmed that investigations are underway into both incidents.
