Kharan (6 AM Report): Provincial Minister for Finance and Minerals, Mir Shuaib Nosherwani, has reaffirmed the Balochistan government’s commitment to promoting and developing education across the province, stressing that education remains one of the government’s foremost priorities alongside other key sectors.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Shakir Ali, Head of Department at Balochistan University Sub-Campus Kharan, and academic representative Amanat Hasrat. The meeting focused on issues faced by the sub-campus, challenges encountered by students, management of the academic system, and proposals for improving educational quality.
Acknowledging the pressing needs of the institution, Minister Nosherwani announced several initiatives, including the provision of a DDO (Drawing and Disbursing Officer) code, installation of electricity poles and a transformer for improved power supply, approval for the construction of an examination hall, repair of campus transport, and allocation of Rs. 1 million for institutional expenses. Additionally, another Rs. 1 million was sanctioned to facilitate a second study tour for students.
“These steps will not only help improve the standards of our educational institutions but also guide our students and youth towards a brighter future,” Nosherwani remarked.
He further emphasized that the provincial government views the promotion of education as a top priority and recognizes the urgent need for a comprehensive and sustainable strategy to rescue universities and campuses from financial difficulties. “Our aim is to ensure an uninterrupted academic system across Balochistan so that students do not face unnecessary hardships,” he added.
The finance minister assured that further measures would be taken to strengthen Sub-Campus Kharan, moving it from instability toward progress and improvement.
