
Quetta (6 AM Report): The Balochistan government has decided to immediately revive the long-delayed Jhallaowan Medical College and Hospital project, recognizing its critical importance for public health and medical education. This decisive move came during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday, where key officials gathered to address the project’s stalled progress.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Leader of Opposition Mir Younus Aziz Zehri, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Health Secretary Mujeeb ur Rehman Panizai, Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon, and other relevant authorities.
Expressing deep concern and disappointment over the undue delays, Chief Minister Bugti emphasized that the Jhallaowan Medical College and Hospital project is directly linked to the health of the public and the educational future of thousands of students. “The delay is simply unacceptable,” he declared, ordering the immediate dismissal of the current project director and transferring responsibility for the project to the Communications Department to accelerate the work.

He further directed the concerned departments to reconstitute the PC-1 (Project Concept-1) document to streamline procedures and speed up execution.
During the briefing, officials informed the meeting that Jhallaowan Medical College has already produced two batches of graduates, with over 400 students currently enrolled. The Chief Minister stressed that the future of these young learners cannot be compromised under any circumstances.
He reiterated the government’s firm resolve to complete the project at the earliest possible date, highlighting that its completion will not only provide students with a superior educational environment but also significantly improve healthcare facilities in the region.
