Quetta (ANN) – Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Ameer and Member of Provincial Assembly, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman, has said that his party firmly stands by its 1974 position when the National Assembly declared Ahmadis as non-Muslims, a move in which Jamaat-e-Islami legislators played a vital role. He announced that September 27th – the day Parliament passed the historic resolution – will be observed across Balochistan, reaffirming the party’s stance that Ahmadis are non-Muslims.
Speaking at a press conference at Quetta Press Club alongside party leaders including Provincial General Secretary Murtaza Kakar, Vice President Zahid Akhtar, Deputy General Secretary Noorul Haq Ghilzai, Deputy Ameer Maulana Abdul Kabir Shakir, and Information Secretary Abdul Wali Shakir, he said the movement against Qadianism was ideologically spearheaded by Maulana Maududi through his 1953 publication Qadiani Masla, which exposed the Ahmadi beliefs in light of Quran and Sunnah.
He recalled that Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing, Islami Jamiat Talaba, made immense sacrifices during the 1953 Khatm-e-Nabuwwat movement, turning it into a nationwide struggle. “The Parliament’s historic 1974 decision declaring Ahmadis non-Muslims remains final, and we will continue to uphold it,” he stressed.
Condemning the recent suicide attack on a Balochistan National Party (BNP) rally, Maulana Hidayat expressed deep grief over the loss of precious lives and extended solidarity with the affected families, saying Jamaat-e-Islami equally shares their pain.
