QUETTA (6 AM Report): The first review meeting of the newly established Socio-Political Committee, chaired by Balochistan’s Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, was held here on Thursday.
The meeting stressed that the formation of the committee is a major step toward sustainable peace, stability, and social cohesion in the province. It was noted that the forum would play a key role in making government initiatives at the local level more effective and coordinated.
The session was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hamza Shafqat, Secretary Local Government Abdul Rauf Baloch, Special Secretary Finance Jahangir Kakar, along with other senior officials.
Participants held detailed discussions on the social dimensions of the National Action Plan (NAP) and conducted a comprehensive review of the points approved by the Apex Committee. Particular focus was placed on strengthening the security architecture, addressing the spread of divisive content on social media, and examining the 28 points of the Balochistan Integrated Security Architecture (BISA), which cover all aspects of sabotage and subversion.
It was agreed that a comprehensive, effective, and multi-dimensional policy framework would be developed to counter these challenges. The meeting concluded with a decision that the committee will meet regularly on a monthly basis to ensure consistency and follow-through on all agreed measures.
