Chagai (UNA): After remaining closed for several days due to heightened Iran-Israel tensions, the Pak-Iran border gate at Taftan has been reopened through the efforts of Deputy Commissioner Chagai and Assistant Commissioner Taftan.
According to Levies sources, with the reopening of the gate, local residents have been allowed to travel to Zahedan on a 15-day corridor permit, easing movement and facilitating trade activities. The corridor passes will be issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner Dalbandin.
The reopening sparked joy among local communities, who welcomed the decision and praised the authorities. They said the move fulfills a longstanding public demand and provides much-needed relief to people living in the border region.
Community leaders and citizens have urged that the facility be made permanent to ensure smooth cross-border travel and trade without disruptions.
Levies officials added that reopening the border gate has created new prospects for Pak-Iran relations, terming it a significant step toward confidence-building and strengthening bilateral cooperation in the region.
