QUETTA (6 AM Report): Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has announced that all political parties in the province will be required to conclude their rallies by sunset in order to maintain law and order and ensure public convenience.
Speaking to the media at the Balochistan Assembly on Friday, CM Bugti strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on Sariab Road, calling it an attempt by anti-peace elements to spread fear among innocent civilians.
“Terrorists have no nation or tribe; their only purpose is bloodshed and chaos,” he remarked.
He reaffirmed that the people of Balochistan are courageous and have always foiled the nefarious designs of those who oppose peace and progress.
Expressing deep grief over the loss of lives, the Chief Minister offered condolences to the families of the victims and assured them of immediate compensation. “The government stands firmly with the affected families,” he said, emphasizing that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority.
On the issue of political rights, CM Bugti reiterated that all parties are free to hold protests in a democratic manner, but violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Addressing speculations, he clarified that he had not made any statement about the attack on Sardar Akhtar Mengal; rather, he had only discussed general security threats with Opposition Leader Younus Zahri.
Responding to questions on the suspension of internet services, the Chief Minister said that such measures are sometimes unavoidable as terrorists exploit digital platforms for their malicious objectives.
He also revealed that a tribal jirga is being convened in Ziarat to resolve local disputes peacefully through consensus. On the water situation, he confirmed that the provincial government is closely monitoring developments in the Indus River but reassured that there is currently no threat of flooding in Balochistan.
Praising Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China, CM Bugti described it as highly successful and a major step in strengthening Pakistan’s global relations. “Those who claimed Pakistan was isolated have been proven wrong. The world always stands with the victorious, and history is a witness to this fact,” he asserted.
The Chief Minister pledged that the government of Balochistan will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of its people and to push forward the province’s development agenda. “Terrorists will be brought to justice, and peace will prevail in Balochistan,” he vowed.
Provincial ministers Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Mir Asim Kurd Gillo, and Sardar Kohiyar Khan Domki were also present during the briefing.
