Quetta, August 28 (6 AM Report): Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti inaugurated state-of-the-art facilities including an MRI unit, Cath Lab, and a fully digital pharmacy at Civil Sandeman Hospital Quetta on Thursday.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Adviser Naseem-ur-Rehman Mullahkhail, MPAs Zarak Mandokhail, Ali Madad Jatak, Asfandyar Kakar, Asghar Khan Tareen, Health Secretary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panezai, DG Health Services Dr. Ameen Khan Mandokhail, MS Dr. Hadi Khan, and other officials.
CM Bugti inspected various departments of the hospital and said the provincial government is taking serious measures to ensure the provision of modern healthcare facilities to the people. He also announced the nomination of renowned physician Dr. Wasi for a high civil award, acknowledging his extraordinary sacrifice of leaving a lucrative career in the UK to serve in Balochistan. “Dr. Wasi is a true asset to our society, an inspiration of dedication and service to humanity,” Bugti remarked.
Speaking to the media, the CM said that Rs. 1 billion has been allocated for the hospital’s reconstruction, along with the import of advanced medical machinery. The newly installed MRI machine, a 1.5 Tesla latest model, will operate round-the-clock, while the Cath Lab facility has also been made available for patients.
He noted that corruption was once rampant in hospital pharmacies, but now the system has been fully digitalized to ensure transparency and patient convenience. Appreciating the efforts of the provincial health minister, health secretary, and the entire team, Bugti said all positive suggestions for reforms will be welcomed.
He emphasized that reforms will continue, and while concerns of employees can be addressed through dialogue, no compromise will be made on public interest. He warned that employees involved in political activities would face strict action under the BEDA Act, and reiterated that the government would not bow to pressure or blackmail from any organization.
“Providing quality healthcare is the right of every citizen. We are fully committed to ensuring that the common man in Balochistan has access to modern and reliable health facilities,” the Chief Minister declared.
