NASEERABAD (6 AM Report): Deputy Commissioner Naseerabad, Munir Ahmed Khan Kakar, has warned that no negligence will be tolerated in the recovery of government dues. He directed that strict departmental action will be taken against any patwaris or revenue staff found guilty of laxity.
Presiding over a meeting of revenue officers and staff, the DC instructed assistant commissioners to closely monitor recovery operations and ensure that assigned targets are achieved on time. He emphasized that circle-wise lists of defaulters must be prepared, and notices should be issued immediately to landowners failing to clear their dues.
Kakar further ordered that the revenue staff exercise their authority by closing watercourses and halting land transfers of those landlords who default on payments. He stressed that the government is taking practical measures for the benefit of farmers, and therefore, landowners must fulfill their responsibilities without hesitation.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Chattar Bahadur Khan Khosa, tehsildars, naib tehsildars, qanungos, and patwaris. Revenue collection details from all tehsils were presented, and the current status of dues recovery was reviewed.
The DC underlined that areas with incomplete recovery should be given special attention, and urgent measures must be taken to meet targets. He made it clear that pending dues were proof of negligence by revenue staff and warned that strict action would be taken against those showing carelessness.
He also instructed all revenue staff to keep their jamabandis updated at all times and discharge their official duties responsibly, stating that any lapse would not be tolerated.
