QUETTA (6 AM Report) Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that all measures to restore peace would be made more effective, stressing that no negligence in protecting the lives and property of citizens would be tolerated.
CM Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting on law and order at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat following Tuesday night’s blast at Shahwani Stadium.
During the briefing, Additional Chief Secretary for Home Hamza Shafqat and Acting Inspector General of Police Saeed Wazir informed the meeting about the incident and the security situation.
Speaking at the session, He directed the Home Department to keep the public and media informed about the government’s actions and facts surrounding the incident to curb rumors and ensure transparency.
The Chief Minister vowed that those responsible for the Shahwani Stadium attack would be brought to justice and stated firmly that terrorists would not be allowed to sabotage peace in Balochistan. He assured the families of the martyrs that the government stands with them and added that the injured were receiving the best medical treatment. Severely injured victims, he said, would be shifted to Karachi through the provincial government’s air service if necessary for advanced care.
Bugti underlined that in view of current threat alerts, political parties and citizens must fully cooperate with the government and security institutions. “This is a time for unity and solidarity to foil the nefarious designs of miscreants,” he remarked.
He also directed the preparation of a foolproof security plan for the upcoming 12th Rabi-ul-Awal programs, urging the public to extend full cooperation during religious gatherings and processions to ensure peaceful observance.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqat, Acting IG Police Saeed Wazir, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Commissioner Quetta Division Shahzeb Kakar, DG Levies Abdul Ghafar Magsi, and other senior officials.
