Kalat (6 AM Report): Deputy Commissioner Kalat, Captain (R) Jameel Ahmed Baloch, has said that the provision of timely and uninterrupted healthcare facilities to the public is essential for building a healthy society. He stressed that the attendance of medical staff and doctors must be ensured, adding that no negligence in the health sector will be tolerated.
He expressed these views during a surprise visit to the District Teaching Hospital Kalat, where he inspected various departments and reviewed the available facilities. The DC was briefed on hospital performance and challenges by District TB Coordinator Dr. Muhammad Yaqoob Zehri.
During the visit, DC Jameel Baloch checked the attendance of doctors and staff, and inspected different sections, including Emergency, OPD, Medicines Store, Leishmaniasis Center, Laboratory, X-Ray Room, Male and Female Wards, Dental Section, Benazir Nashonuma Center, Labor Room, Immunization Center, and Eye Section.
He also met patients who had come for treatment, inquiring about the availability of medicines and the quality of healthcare services being provided. The DC assured that the government is committed to further improving the health sector and addressing the issues faced by hospitals.
