JAFFARABAD (6 AM Report): Deputy Commissioner Jaffarabad, Khalid Khan, has emphasized that the timely recovery of government dues is a crucial part of the government’s financial policy and warned that no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
Chairing an important meeting at the DC office, attended by revenue officers, tehsildars, naib tehsildars, and other revenue staff, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed reports on the recovery of government dues, particularly ushr, abiana (water charges), and agricultural income tax.
He directed officials and revenue staff to perform their duties with honesty and diligence, ensuring that all recoveries are completed within the stipulated time. He further stated that the government is taking various steps in the wider interest of farmers and cultivators, therefore landowners must also ensure timely payment of dues so that resources can be allocated for developmental projects.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed that immediate measures be taken in areas where recoveries are still pending, and in cases of non-payment, notices should be issued to concerned landowners. He also directed revenue officials to regularly monitor the recovery process and submit performance reports.
Highlighting the importance of responsibility, DC Khalid Khan remarked that departmental duties are not merely official obligations but a public trust, and any negligence or carelessness will not be tolerated.
